My dad photographer Tom Kelly III, had cataract surgery February 15th, 2010 and I was lucky enough to be able to photograph the surgery. This photograph shows the doctor using an ultrasound-driven instrument that "sonically" breaks up the cataract as it is suctioned out of eye.
