Coatesville City Police and Chester County Detectives investigate a suspicious fire at an autobody shop on Fleetwood Street between 3rd and 4th Aves. late Wednesday night, into early Thursday morning (Thanksgiving)... Multiple gas cans were found inside of the garage by firemen who responded for the 2-alarm fire.
Moments later a fire was dispatched to Doe Run Road near Strasburg Road in East Fallowfield Township, for the report of at least two people seen pouring gasoline on the home. A tenant who lives in the home chased the two males, but was unable to keep up. Philadelphia Police Tac-Air helicopter as well as K9's from the surrounding area searched for the suspects. The fleeing suspects did not get a chance to light the house on fire, but do to the heavy fumes from the gasoline, power was shut down to the building and the fire department ventalated the fumes from the house. PA State Police Fire Marshal was called in to assist in the investigation, since both incidents occured moments apart.
A third incident was reported a few hours earlier at an abandoned farm house on Buck Run Road in East Fallowfield Township. This fire is also reported to be suspicious in nature.
