Berks County Motel Destroyed By Fire

Fire companies from Chester, Berks, and Lancaster counties were called in to fight a multi-alarm fire which destroyed the main building of the USA Inn and Suites on Morgantown Road in Brecknock Township, Berks County. The fire occurred around 7pm Sunday night. According to a family member of the owners, the fire began near the laundry room, and his family members who live in a second floor apartment along with motel guests were uninjured. The motel is located on the hillside and is visible from both the PA Turnpike and Rt. 10 off the Morgantown interchange.

Tredyffrin fire leaves 60 out in the cold

A 3-alarm fire destroyed an entire building in the Strafford Station Apartment complex leaving dozens of people homeless and left in the cold. The fire which began just before 9:30 Saturday morning took firefighters from roughly 15 fire companies about 2 hours to bring under control. No residents or firefighters were injured in the fire. Personnel from Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware Counties responded to the fire scene. The American Red Cross and the complex management are working to place the residents in a local hotel for the weekend, as well as get them food and clothing.
