Man killed in Kennett Township Explosion

A 22-year-old man was killed in what State Police are calling an accidental chemical explosion.  Early reports stated the victim may have been killed while building a model rocket near a home down a long private driveway off of the 300 block of Hillendale Road, in Kennett Township.  The Chester County Fire Marshals office, Hazardous Materials Team, Kennett Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, State Police from Avondale, the the Chester County Coroners office were all dispatched to the scene after the explosion.  Neighbors in the area heard a loud explosion.

Teenage male from Hatboro-Horsham was found deceased at the base of the 134 foot tall tower of chimes and mausoleum in the center of the Whitemarsh Memorial Park on Limekiln Road.
